May in Gamecan

Jun 14, 2022

In May, we shared some exciting news and had interesting visits at the office.

Full Cycle Game Academy

The most exciting thing that happened in May was that we finally got to announce a project we have been working on – Full Cycle Game Academy!

With our fast growth, it’s been a challenge to find new talent as fast as we’d like to expand our team and we see that the problem is increasing globally. More and more Unreal Engine specialists are needed in the game industry as the engine is quickly growing in popularity. This, and the mission to develop the game development scene in Estonia, is what led us to create the Full Cycle Game Academy.

The courses offer a wide range in knowledge of the game industry and in-depth training in Unreal Engine. The academy will emulate a real-life game development company’s work and our goal is to provide our students with all the knowledge, experience, and tools to ensure them a workspot in the game industry.

Unicorn Squad visit

HK Unicorn Squad is a movement in Estonia providing knowledge and skills in technology as hobby education only for girls. They visited our office to introduce game studios’ work for the little enthusiasts.

All of our team members talked about their position and answered the questions the girls had. While enjoying the pizza we surprised them with after the visit, many girls found that they would love to work at Gamecan. Hopefully, they will consider game development as their future career.

CPR training

As our team is growing bigger and we want everyone to feel safe in and around the office, some of our team members got CPR certified. The training lasted for two days where they talked about different scenarios that could happen in and out of the office and practiced CPR on a dummy. And yes, “Staying alive” was also sung.

See you next month!
